Introducing Video Calling in Messenger from Facebook on Vimeo. Facebook has been rolling out a lot of features lately, this one much like the Scrapbook feature, makes sense. Video calling in Facebook messenger which is making the move for the messenger to be a standalone service make a little more sense. With services out there like Skype, Google Hangouts, and Hello from Firefox, this puts Messenger out there to compete. So you can open the video chat right from an existing messenger window. I think this is a great addition especially since most people maintain FB specifically for actual friends and family. Most of my family is scattered all over so sometimes a little face to face doesn't hurt.
